If you’re a brow lover then this is a post you should definitely take five to read. I’ve noticed adverts for the new Maybelline Tattoo Brow easy peel off tint going round Facebook and Instagram over the last couple of days and just had to try it.
I’ve got quite sparse and patchy brows, thanks to various chicken pox scars and over plucking when I was about fifteen. I tend to spend around fifteen minutes filling and perfecting my brows in the morning – which frankly is fifteen minutes I could be sleeping. Therefore, I was more than eager to try this tint with the prospect of cutting out a fair bit of time spent on my brows in the mornings.
At £13 I’d say it’s a little on the pricey-side, considering the tube is really quite small. However, for me, I’d say it’s definitely worth the money as it is going to save me so much time, effort and money on gels, pencils and pomades.
(Side note – the product is currently sold out of most places like Boots, Superdrug, Feel Unique etc, so try your local supermarkets. I managed to get one of the last two at my local Tesco Extra.)
Now for first impressions. When I first started using it, I found the applicator rather annoying as it’s a bit on the thick side. I’d definitely suggest having a make-up wipe on hand to clean around the edges as you go.
I wasn’t overly impressed at all the first time I used the product – it wasn’t very dark at all, I struggled to peel it off and there were parts that just hadn’t been tinted at all. However, I persevered and I had another go the next day.
I realised that firstly, you have to put a lot of product on and second, leave it longer than it says on the box. I’d recommend really well and truly coating your eyebrows in the product and leaving it on for more like 30/35 minutes. I found that this really did the trick and I’m absolutely in love with the result. It was much easier to peel the product off this time, as easy as they do in the advert, and it left behind a really natural looking, nice coloured tint.
I’m always very wary about brow products as I don’t like my brows to look overly-obviously drawn on and I really don’t like the orangey-looking colours that most brown brow products often are. The Maybelline Tattoo Brow, on the other hand, is super natural looking – the brown is neither too warm nor too cold and khaki-looking, and is equally soft and natural looking. It’s not immediately obvious that my brows aren’t all mine and I love it.
In addition, Maybelline offer various shades for different brows. I’ve got quite dark brows, personally, and the medium brown when left on for around 30 minutes was ideal for me.
I’d 100% recommend this product. It’s easy-to-use, mess-free, quick and simple and absolutely does it’s job, allowing you to wake up every morning to really natural looking, full and effortless brows. I’m looking forward to getting an extra fifteen minutes in bed every morning – cheers Maybelline.
Let me know if you’ve tried the new Maybelline Tattoo Brow and what you thought of it – I’d love to know! Thanks for reading, and apologies for being a bit slow on the blogging-front recently.
